Ordering New UNIX/Linux WorkstationsPrimary Contact: Scott DelingerUNIX/Linux workstations and servers need to be carefully specified so that the bottlenecks that may affect your work are addressed, and excess money isn't spent on addressing issues that aren't applicable to your situation. We've managed to save faculty members $15K or more on some occasions, suggesting less expensive alternatives to pricy workstations which may underperform what we suggest. In this arena of computing, it truly is important to select your software, and then select the platform to run it on. We can also help you secure your workstation, so it spends its time working for you, not some cracker from overseas. Please submit your request to our Help Desk. The Help Desk automatically alerts the correct individuals of the request. If you cannot reach the Help Desk (computer completely inoperative, network down), call one of the primary contacts for this service. The Help Desk is designed to help you and us track requests, provide a forum for Frequently Asked Questions, and help us keep you apprised of our progress on your requests. This file last updated: |
