Ordering New Desktop Computers

Primary Contacts: Scott Delinger, TBD

Sure, you can buy computers at an electronics big box in town. Might even be cheaper. However, reliability is a function of the components installed, as well as the operating system and core application software installed. Let us help you spend your grant money wisely, or provide advice on what to look for in a new computer. In the long run, as computers tend to last 4+ years (sometimes as much as 8 or more!) in the Department, you want to make a decision that provides a stable computing plaform for your work. We have established vendor relations to ensure that we get what you need, at a fair price, backed by a reasonable service and support department.

Please submit your request to our Help Desk. The Help Desk automatically alerts the correct individuals of the request. If you cannot reach the Help Desk (computer completely inoperative, network down), call one of the primary contacts for this service. The Help Desk is designed to help you and us track requests, provide a forum for Frequently Asked Questions, and help us keep you apprised of our progress on your requests.
