File Servers

Chem IT has two file servers available to serve as backup space for your files. Note: this service should be considered your backup, not your sole copy of these files. Note that these servers are for backup, not file archiving. Archival is long-term storage on hardy media, such as CD-R, and we offer this service for those not equipped with CD-RW drives. These servers will be backed up when the new servers arrive, but still must not be considered as a location for sole copies of files.

Please submit your request to our Help Desk. The Help Desk automatically alerts the correct individuals of the request. If you cannot reach the Help Desk (computer completely inoperative, network down), call one of the primary contacts for this service. The Help Desk is designed to help you and us track requests, provide a forum for Frequently Asked Questions, and help us keep you apprised of our progress on your requests.
